Success for Mirage at CIPEC pipeline event in Langfang, China

Mirage Machines, an Acteon company, recently showcased a selection of portable on-site machining products at the China International Pipeline Exhibition & Conference (CIPEC). On display at the Langfang International Conference Center were flange facing machines, diamond wire saws, split frame pipe cutters and hot tapping machines, each receiving an encouraging response from stand visitors.

The star product was the subsea hot tapping machine, a new Mirage product designed to hot tap into live pipelines up to a depth of 300m sub-sea. The machine is ROV compatible, it has a working pressure capacity of 5000 psi and can hot tap diameters from 3 – 12”.

The CIPEC event provides an effective trading platform for professionals working in the industry and represents a diverse range of engineering disciplines relating to pipeline construction & maintenance.

As a part of the event, Mirage Managing Director Richard Silk gave technical presentations to a CNPC organised summit, covering subsea hot tapping, line stopping, and pipeline isolation.

Commenting on the event Richard Silk said, “The interest in our products has been fantastic, we’ve had a great response from engineering professionals, from the smaller service companies right up to the biggest operators in China’s pipeline sector. The investment here in China is significant and there’s enormous potential for our range of on-site machining products”.

Mirage’s attendance at CIPEC follows the recent success at the Australasian Oil & Gas (AOG) event held earlier this year in Perth, Australia.
